Taj Mahal, Agra
A must see on India Trip! Also known as one of the seven wonders of world. A white marble mausoleum built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal (Arjumand Bano Begum).
The work to build Taj Mahal was started in year 1631 and 20,000 workers laboured to complete this architectural wonder in 17years! Agra is about 200kms from Delhi and can be reached in 3hours by road or train. Agra is also connected by Air. Taj Mahal can be visited on any days except Fridays. The trip can be done in one day if you do not intend to stay at Agra.

The construction involved skilled craftmen, masons, architects, stone-carvers, calligraphers from Persia and Turkey. Today descendants of these craftsmen living in Agra are still trying to keep the dying art and skillwork. A tour to see them working with their tools can show us how skilled they are!

Fatehpur Sikri- capital city built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed.
Built in 16th century with red sand stone comprises palaces, courtyards, the harem, soldier's barracks, audience hall & many more structures of Mughal era. A tour to Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO's World Heritage Site also include visit to- Buland Darwaza, a 40m high gateway with huge arches showing mughal architecture. Jodha Bai' s(Queen of Emperor Akhbar) Palace shows the royal palace for the queen and also see the Hawa Mahal, a pavillion inside the palace for women folks to enjoy the cool breeze & scenic view.
